A surrealist science-fiction short story/management game hybrid. Think Black Mirror with live twitch integration xD

In this weird dystopia, as a Larva, you are legally mandated to take a 7 days training about Gender™ before making the Big Choice that will decide the rest of your life.

Our cutting-edge edutainment software will help you take an informed decision by letting you play around with your very own simulated Economy!

Duration: 30 minutes

Gameplay: Click/touch. No keyboard/enter key support on purpose to avoid typos in the streamer names.

POLISHED BETA VERSIONhttps://yo252yo.com/noeyes/

itch doesn't let me upload it during the jam rating, but if you want to see the True End and have a bit more polished physics engine, this is the result of a few more days of non stop work. Gonna nap now. Cheers.

DISCLAIMER

The events portrayed, even the real ones, are entirely fictional.

TWITCH LIVE INTEGRATION

This game reads twitch chat in real time (from your web browser!). That is possible because Twitch uses IRC to power its chatrooms. I expect that since this is very cool it will be destroyed soon for corporations to get more control, as is the case with all cool technology. Hurry to play with your chat before it's too late :)

At this point the game will automatically default to fake usernames, like it will if you request offline channels or if you make a typo in streamer names. There is no way to distinguish between non-existing channels and offline or small channels.

SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN TO BOOST YOUR BRAIN

I'll add the precise reference later but the core gameplay is not (only) inspired by the DVD logo everyone knows and loves, but also by real cognitive science research! This game will actually help your brain and improve your attention. I could be persuaded to turn it into a brain-workout-roguelike, but for now let's focus on finishing this jam and getting a bit of sleep, lol.

WORK IN PROGRESS - PROTOTYPE

This prototype was developed for the Neuro Sama Unofficial Game Jam 3. I have not had time to perfectly finish it and am still actively working on it. In particular, the True End is missing and I know the physics system leaves a lot to be desired. I also needs a lot of proofreading and editing. Please be forgiving :)

As for the game jam theme, PARADOX, you will find that this story has two branches (paradoxically incompatible with each other) that each result in their own paradoxical endings.

I am very excited about this project, if you'd like to help and contribute do contact me, especially if you can make it look better because it's not my strong suit.
