Polishing ending and clarifying "is this a game"

To whomever it may concern :)

I've updated the game with a bit of quality of life (button to hide text on small screens, reload button...).

This update contains two major parts:

  • Polished ending:
    • I wasn't super happy with the ending, hopefully this version flows better. One of the thing that was bothering me a lot was the notion of "your group", because it encourages tribal thinking at the point that's supposed to be about ego-death and communion. I've instead moved it to "network", which I'm not super happy with because of all the correlations, it sounds very linkedin-ish, but at least it touches on the reciprocal influence a little better.
    • Furthermore, after much debate, I've decided to embrace the "color all the stick figures" gameplay. I was very skeptical because it feels very colonialist, but hopefully the phrasing "get influenced by X people" counteracts this ?? But it doesn't work in French cause I'd have to gender the player. But f**k French lol. Anyway I really wanted to embrace the fact that the boundaries of the self grow to include all of mankind in the ending...  I might have to work on this more =/
  • Chapter select:
    • I've replaced the simple "go to X page" by a chapter select screen, mostly to add some structure to the story without being jarring with chapter title pages.
    • That allowed me to answer the question that's on everyone's minds: is this a game?  The chapters follow gameplay mechanics: tutorial - hidden object - pacman - color expansion - FPS (catch a fast dot). Yes, it does parallel the 4X, which came as quite a surprise to me. I didn't want to explicitly call it the "pacman chapter" so I came up with the terminology you see now on the chapter screen. I like the poetry of it but it loses a bit of clarity when it comes to the goal of "clarifying the gameplay".

Apart from that, not much has changed. I can confirm that I will present this game at the A MAZE Open Screens session, tentatively scheduled for the 12-14 slot on Friday 16th, so if you're reading these lines definitely come say hi please <3!
